Pat is known for her open approach to teaching and her ability to help students think outside the box. You select a vest pattern without darts and bring it to class. Pat will show you how to cut and piece abstract forms to create your own fabric palette for your vest. At the end of the first class, she will offer suggestions for embellishment. Your next class has you adding beads, ribbons, found objects, and more to make your vest a truly unique design.

Once the elegant discipline of the serious needle artist, cutwork has been adapted to the machine age. Alice has designed a pattern just for us and you have the privilege of stitching it in her class. A little patience, a little practice, a sewing machine with a straight and zig zag stitch, and you are on your way to completing the perfect doily to rest underneath your Easter lily.

If the name Whistlepig Creek Productions isn’t funny enough, wait until you see the aliens you are about to transport to a quilt. Quicker than you can say, “Beam me up, Scotty,” Diana can teach you the basics of fusible appliqué. She will show you tricks for reversing your pattern, design placement, and special finishing techniques. Abduct your aliens and come to class.

This quaint little pillow has all the earmarks of Mary Englebreit so there must be a Scotty dog near by. Cheryl, designer and owner of Cheryl Rose Creations, has a quick and clever way for you to create chenille using her “color sticks.” This technique only looks hard, but don’t tell anyone how easy it really is. You’ll want to impress friends and family!
